Unsteady Supersonic base flow over an axi-symmetric cylinder is computationally simulated using Detached-Eddy Simulation (DES), one of the kind of RANS/LES Hybrid methods. The simulation is performed at the free stream Mach number 2.46, the Reynolds number 3.291×10^6 based on cylinder diameter 63.5[mm]. Time-averaged results: pressure coefficient and mean axial velocity, show good agreement with experimental data.
