The procedures for separation of Sm and Gd by resin chemistry were established, and then Sm and Gd isotopic measurements in two test samples 1F and 2F were performed to study the exposure records. Significant isotopic deviations over the analytical accuracy were not observed in (Sm-149)-(Sm-150) and (Gd-157)-(Gd-158) of the two samples. The estimated neutron fluences of 1F and 2F were (0 +/- 2.2) x 10(exp 15) and (0.8 +/- 3.1) x 10(exp 15) n/cm(sup 2), respectively.
