The purpose of this paper is to investigate, to develop a teaching material for synthetic learning program in primary school, through the practical execution of shadowgraph and music by using a folk tale in area (i.e. pupil's living educational district). In addition, we search after a sense of attainment of pupils based on application to their learning. In Japan, the folk tales have been passed down from generation to generation. These include a traditional culture and wisdom in local area, and have many elements of cultivation for existing in their life. In this paper, firstly, we discuss the appropriate synthetic learning and nvestigate the sense of attainment. Secondarily, we consider a epresentational education of synthetic learning. Thirdly, we consider the elements of cultivation of folk tale in local area and study the form of telling. Fourthly, we distilled the elements of cultivation from the collected folk tales, and then, examined it from a view of educational and cultural value. Finally, we experimented with the execution of usical shadowgraph's piece, as a new style teaching material for synthetic arning, and showed the method of practical execution for the piece. The major results of this investigation can be summarized as follows : a) The elements of cultivation of folk tale are useful for the teaching materials of synthetic learning. b) The practical execution of hadowgraph and music prompts pupils to feel a sense of attainment, and moreover arouses their interest. c) The pupils show a deep understanding toward culture of local area, and cultivate a positive attitude, creativity and power of existing through the efforts of the execution activity. d) In this studies, we crystallized into the original piece which titled <Anzu To Utebigawa No Kappa>, as a teaching aterial of synthetic learning by using the shadowgraph and music. e) On the representational learning, it seemed obvious to us that the study needs collaboration with other subjects.
