This study focused on characteristics of college students who aim to obtain a certain license such as teacher's certificate in terms of identity status and Synthetic House-Tree-Person Test (S-HTP). 65 first-year college students who aim to obtain a certain job license were assessed by Identity Status Questionnaire (Kato, 1983) and Synthesized House-Tree-Person Test (S-HTP; Maruno et al., 1975). Two-step cluster analysis found that S-HTP pictures were categorized into four clusters (simple type, hiding type, decorated type and coordinated type). It is found that students who aim to be a gymnastic teacher associated with simple type of S-HTP, to be a Yogo teacher (school nurse) with decorated type of S-HTP and identity foreclosure status, to obtain a certificate of psychology with identity achievement status. These findings suggested future needs for supports to students' career development along with ego-identity development.
