The KVN (Korean VLBI Network) project was started from 2001 and was completed in 2008 to construct the first VLBI facilities in Korea, which include three 21-m radio telescopes to be dedicated exclusively to VLBI observations. Single-dish and VLBI test observation is now performing since 2008. The KVN can work as a 500-km large radio telescope in Korean peninsula. Through the observation of millimeter radio astronomy and astrometry by the KVN, it will be the basic science facility to perform the research on the ultra fine structure of star formation, AGN (Active Galactic Nuclei) as well as precision astrometry. The KVN will employ a unique multi-frequency receiver system which is able to achieve the simultaneous observations in up to four bands such as 22, 43, 86, and 129 GHz. To make processing the radio signal observed by the KVN simultaneous multi-frequency receiver system, digital backend system which is the KVN DAS (Data Acquisition System) is prepared. The KVN DAS consists of gigabit sampler, optical transmission unit, digital filter bank, digital spectrometer, and recorder. The development of new correlator hardware system for EAVN (East Asian VLBI Network) including KVN was completed last year and test correlation evaluation is now performing by using KVN and VERA (VLBI Exploration of Radio Astrometry) observation data. The regular scientific operation will be started next year. In this paper, each component system and current status of the KVN will be introduced.
