Since 1969, Japan has engaged in operating LNG receiving terminals across the nation. The number of such terminals totals 28 as of now, simply, the world's largest. The country has also plans to build further terminals. However, its natural gas transportation infrastructure pale next to the US' and Europe's due to the rather short length of its pipelines. With a focus to be more matured in terms of natural gas transportation, like other developed countries, and be more sensitive about the environment, we have to enrich nationwide pipeline networks so that we could further utilize them.
