Social networking sites (SNSs) are recently becoming popular and SNSs help users to communicate with their friends. People need to resister and fill in a number of personal attributes which raise privacy concerns. Disclosing such personal attributes to the public raises privacy concerns, so that SNSs provide privacy settings to allow users to select disclosure levels. Because of the complicated privacy settings that many users tend to ignore such cumbersome settings. In this paper, we propose an approach to help users manage their privacy information. We utilize social annotation to help users configure their privacy setting. Social annotation is privacy levels of personal information specified by users in Social networking sites. And then the privacy attribute ontology (PAO) is adopted to manage personal information for providing taxonomy of privacy attribute. Finally, the result extracted from social annotation can help offer appropriate information to SNSs.
