We describe optimizations of geometry as well as readout mechanism of a highly effective biomolecular detection method known as suspended microchannel resonator. Efficiency improvements lead to increase in mass resolution up to 3.6 times; furthermore new integration of piezoresistive readout method eliminates previous approach drawbacks.
