This paper investigates a human body posture estimation method based on back projection of human silhouette images extracted from multi-camera images. To achieve real-time 3D human body posture estimation, some improvements of the estimation algorithm are proposed in the fitting process of cylindrical human model. To evaluate the proposed method, estimation experiments of 3D human body postures are carried out. Experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the estimation method.
