A rotary cutting method driven by a motor has capability of a solution to poor lubrication problem in turning with a single point tool. That is, the tool surface temperature can be suppressed by thermal energy dispersion, the contacting stress can be reduced by good chip flow ability and certain entrainment velocity of lubricant laterally to the chip flow direction can be produced. The appropriate surface texture on the rake face also gives some enhancement of lubrication which leads to proof contacting stress and high temperature, due to hydrodynamic action caused by wedge action.
