On Concatenation of Codes for Wiretap Channels

• The method for concatenating codes for the wiretap channel that was recently proposed by the author is studied. It is argued that any rate below the secrecy capacity of the wiretap channel or broadcast channel with confidential messages (Wyner, 1975; Csiszar and Korner, 1978) is achievable by the codes obtained with the concatenation method. The resulting codes inherit the advantages of Forney's concatenated codes, such as the efficiency of decoding and constructiveness.
