We propose a system of easily fabricated very low power consumption thermo-optic polymer photonic switches, tunable polymer wavelength filtiers, and three-dimensional polymer optical layer interconnects to be densely integrated to realize a practical photonic switching circuit. In this work, we demonstrate a polarization-independent, low crosstalk, and high-speed polymer photonic switch with 3.5mW of power consumption, a high-contrast polymer Bragg grating waveguide wavelength filter with greater than 40dB of transmission contrast as well as a novel low-loss optical layer interconnect device.
