Snow-brand Milk Products, once a leading and profitable company in Japan's dairy industry, brought about two scandals. A milk poisoning affair and a fraud of Government subsidize on beef caused by Snow-brand subsidiary company. The measures taken to deal with the first scandal was not enough but rather formal, which might lead to the second scandal. As a result Snow-brand completely lost consumer's confidence , suffered severe damage, went very near to bankruptcy. To cope with this crisis, whole company stirred up, especially young people. Snow-brand made every effort to restore consumer confidence. They changed management style and shifted their weight from profit oriented to consumer oriented. Adding an independent director, establishing corporate ethics committee, after intensive discussion, all members in the company submitted written covenant to comply with the code of conduct of the company. These series of company wide action for restoring consumer's confidence through ethics have gradually been received by consumers. Their financial performance has been recovering slowly. They are on the process of coming back.
