In actual situations,management decisions on ethical issues are not based on deontological views,but on utilitarian considerations.This paper shows that in making business decisions on environmental issues,a game theory approach can be used to analyze and the optimal solution from utilitarian standpoint of business firm is also the most ethical decision. At the same time,in order for the business firm to make utilitarian decision which also can become the most ethical decision, pressure is necessary on the part of the government and the community for the business firm to make such businenn decision.
