Hexaflexagons are hexagonal shaped paper polygons, folded from straight or crooked strips of paper. They were invented in 1939 by Arthur H. Stone, and have been investigated thoroughly for normal flexes. For each natural number n greater than two, it is known that there are constructions of models of hexaflexagon with n faces. If a model of hexaflexagon has six faces, then it is called a (model of) hexahexaflexagon. In this paper, we give a detailed description of irregular flexes (they are called V-flexes in T. Bruce McLean's paper(2)) of the straight model of hexahexaflexagon and show its interesting properties. In particular, we show how to bring three colors in each faces of it. The practical content of the extension course that deals with the irregular flexes of hexahexaflexagon is also reported.
