Turbo equalization has been recognized as being one of the most efficient techniques in frequency selective fading channel in broadband single carrier signaling. The goal of this paper is twofold: (1) to propose a very simple BICM-ID technique, suitable for FD SC MMSE turbo equalization, and (2) to show that by using extended mapping, the spread of the equalizer EXIT function due to fading variation can be made compressed, hence the variation of the BER can be made smaller.
