• Japanese emission control for vehicle act regarding to particulate matter has been tightened gradually. We checked the sources of particle matters and its proportion and annual variation of extinction concentration by emission control to confirm the validity of our estimation. As a result the reduction of turbidity has been confirmed by the actual measurement in tunnel. In our estimation, reduction of turbidity continues until the year 2013 when it becomes stable. It can be expected that the turbidity will be decreased according to strengthening of emission control in future.
