According to the incresing tenperature of grilling fish, the coating on the grill rods is expected to have not only low adheison property against grilled fish but also the high heat endurance up to 500℃. Fluorine resin coating can not be used at 500℃. In order to overcome this issue, we introduced a new hydrophobic DLC coating on the rods. We roasted a fish with the rod which was coated hydrophobic DLC coating and measured adhesion force between a fish and the grill. As a result, adhesion force with the grill which was coated hydrophobic DLC film showed the lowest of all. Also hydrophobic DLC can keep the hydrophobic property after the endurance test at 500℃.
