The tribological characteristics between a slipper and a swash-plate used in a swash-plate type axial piston motor were examined experimentally. The test rig was manufactured and the flow rate, frictional torque and the displacement of the slippers were measured under the conditions of the supply pressure up to 35 MPa, the rotational speed of 0-13.3 rps, and the oil temperature of 30-60℃. The motion of the slippers was spin or revolution. The tilting angle of the swash-plate was corresponding to 0 degree. As the supply pressure and the rotational speed increased, the torque became large. As the pressure increased and the oil temperature rose, the flow rate increased ; but the flow rate was independent of the speed.
