The purpose of this study is to examine mentalizing processes in young children, especially in their talking about personality trait.Although it has long been considered that young children being not capable of talking and understanding personality trait, recentstudies show 3 to 6 year olds do talk and understand personality trait in some contexts. Children in 5 to 6 year olds often talk about "kindness" of their caregiver voluntarily suggests the necessity to examine "whose" and "what kind" of traits are young children interested in. The important role of emotions and relationships in mentalizing processes is discussed.
