Comparison of zooplankton distribution patterns between four seasons in the Indian Ocean sector of the Southern Ocean

南大洋インド洋区において4シーズン(2004/05、2005/06、2007/08、2008/09)にわたり、同時期、同航路にて連続プランクトン採集器(CPR)を曳航し、表層動物プランクトン群集の経年変化を調査した。表層動物プランクトン群集の現存量は4シーズンを通して極前線海域で増加し、キクロプス目の小型カイアシ類であるOithona similis とカラヌス目カイアシ類(例えばCalanus属、Ctenocalanus属、Clausocalanus属)のコペポダイト幼生が卓越し、全体の50%以上を占めていた。2004/05シーズンには有孔虫の高い現存量が確認された。また2007/08シーズンには尾虫類が卓越した。これらの分類群の年変動は植物プランクトンの現存量が一因である可能性が示唆された。
