The closest correlation on production and perception between Japanese and Finnish was in durational distribution, not FO nor dB, and thus, moraic length may bind both languages. Although Japanese does not have a CVVCCVV structure, the experiments may prove that it can adopt distributional duration to a different structure both in production and perception. The finding from this study is that Finnish could bind its moraic durational distribution at a lexical level as in Japanese, both in production and perception, rather than at a segmental level. However, this may prove that durational compensation is, especially in Finnish, working at a lexical level, though respective segmental duration varies. Finally, the temporal distriubution may not be enough to explain particular rhythmic issues and thus other physiological experiments may be needed.
