• All artificial products eventually break down and will either be repaired or renewed. The time for a product to break down has been numerically described as service life but for many products it has been different from the actual conditions. For Lighting fixtures, the service life is not only dependent on the product performance and functions but also largely dependent on the operation, installed conditions and maintenance. This paper reports actual conditions in search of changes in the product's physical, economical and social service life and proposes comprehensive time to replacement for them.
