Scale arrangements of the whole wings were examined, by observing sockets which are small points of attachment of the scales on the wing surface. Scale rows are continuous rings, anteroposteriorly directed on a flattened spheroidal surface of the wing. By looking at the wing using the procedure of the polar coordinate model by FRENCH et al. (1976), it can be schematised as an array of concentric circles whose radii increase at regular intervals, the distal tip of the wing is represented by the center of the array. Several points about this arrangement pattern are discussed: formation process, comparison with the wing color pattern, adaptive aspects and so on.
