The sampling by 'single-individual trailing method' is appropriate for the initial study of behavior of comparatively slow animals or the rough sketch of their whole life. The recording on the original data-sheets with time-scales enabled us to input the behavioral data by a digitizer and to compile it by a personal computer. This close observation and computer compilation disclosed a whole life of the Japanese cabbage white. Firstly, its provisional ethogram was proposed. Then, based on it, ecological information about principal behavior patterns was offered. Lastly, the life pattern of each sex was inferred, and a new important role of males was asserted: Many resident males drive out younger mated females from a home habitat.
