The objectives of this study are to find the issues and trend of the CSR activities of Indian corporations and to find the similarities and differences between the CSR activities of family business houses like Tata & Reliance and non-family business like Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL). From the comparative study of CSR activities of Tata, reliance and HUL, I found some issues of CSR activities in social or philanthropy more than components of CSR. As a result, the differences are found in the concious (trust vs. non-trust), intention (volunteer vs. strategic) & target groups (community vs. person) of CSR activities performed by the corporations. Since, the Indian corporations has extended their business abroad, they must follow the international business environment including CSR activities. Therfore, the Indian corporations will perform the CSR activities from the view point of triple bottom-line maintaining their tradition of philanthropic activities.
