On Study and Experiments for Structural and Hydrodynamic Damping on Hull Girder Vibration

The adequate evaluation of damping will be one of the difficulty to the accurate estimation of response for the hull vibration. In this paper, it is divided into structural and hydrodynamic damping and non-dimensional coefficients to estimate them quantitatively are obtained. In addition, the ship's hull having the double bottom structure such as a bulk carrier is subject to the coupling vibration. The present paper obtains the estimation method of the added mass necessary to the evaluation of the coupled vibration of the ship's hull having the double bottom structure and its three dimensional correction factor.
