In this paper, we describe the outline of noise prediction method and application examples, and the noise reduction technique to the real working ships. In the first place, an empirical method based on full-scale measurement data were worked out as prediction method of noise level for the living quarters of working ships. Secondly, at the estimate of vibration source characteristics, vibration exciting source foundation characteristics of real ship are surveyed. Then the vibration isolation effect of isolator set in the generator engine base of full-scale ship is grasped. Thirdly, some coefficients and parameters included in the noise prediction methods were determined from the full-scale measurement data of noise and vibration on 2 working ships. Finally, noise levels obtained from the full-scale measurements were compared with those calculated by the empirical method. The results yielded an average error of 3-5dB(A).
