In the strength calculation of girder networks, this paper shows a method in which it is to find out the deflection and bending moments at each intersection as the result of getting the reaction by solving the linear simultaneaus eqations which are to be derived from the conditions under which the deflection of the longitudinal member equals that of the transverse one at each intersection, assuming the reaction upon each intersection as unknown force. The coefficients of eqations are shown by matrices, and the elements of them evaluated by the area-moment method under the various load and boundary conditions, thus making it easy to make the table of the coefficients, particulary for irregular networks.
