The purpose of this study is to shed light on how the concept of developing disorder is constructed by discourse analysis. Although developmental disorder is understood as a form of brain malfunction, the source of the problem is still unknown. Therefore, its characteristics are not as well recognized as physical and mental disorder. We see such discussion in the interactions among the parents of developmentally disabled children that I analyzed. It became clear that a set of unique descriptors were used in such interaction.
