The DNA content of the spermatozoa of the husbands whose wives exhibited no notable abnormality but were sterile or infertile were determined by the Pulse Cytophotometer, I.C.P 11 (PHYWE). The mean value of the DNA content of the spermatozoa for the control group was slightly higher than that of the sterility or infertility group. The histogram of the DNA content of the spermatozoa for a sterility or infertility case showed a higher proportion of "n" range and a lower proportion of "2n", "3n",and "4n" range when compared to the distribution of the control group's spermatozoa. The same analysis was also performed on the spermatozoa which ascended through the cervical mucosa when Kremer sperm penetration test was applied. The results of the latter experiment indicated that the proportion of such spermatozoa was close to those of the control spermatozoa, even though the proportion in "n" range of the entire counted spermatozoa showed an abnormal distribution pattern. More variation, i.e. a greater incidence of "2n", "3n",and "4n" range of the spermatozoa after 2h of penetration test than 24h, was also noted.
