The purpose of this report is to clarify how the articles of home economics reflect the identity of home economics. The other objective is to consider the problems of home economics research in the future. The 145 research articles in the Journal of Home Economics of JAPAN in 2005-2007 were analyzed on the basis of key words which represent the features of home economics, and the indexes of holisticity and practicality. As a result, only a part of the articles reflected the identity of home economics. Therefore, it is necessary to develop methods of home economics research to concrete the identity of home economics.
