Geotope is an important part of the Ecotope or the Ecosystem, together with Biotope. Particularly, both parts perform closely at the surface of ground, 0.5〜1.0m in depth. During natural disasters, many land slides and debris-avalanches occur at the ground surface and overland. Vegetation covers almost the ground surface and their conditions such as succession and weathering affect and influence on the soil formation and stability. Several disasters occur and happen barren and poor or without vegetation area. Both the types of vegetation, such as artificial species, immature and secondary species or grass field, and the forest kind such as deciduous forest, Japanese cedar, bamboo forest and other man-made forest, have an important role.
