We encounter reality in the field of sense-experiences as human experiences. The concept of hyle points to these sense-experiences as functional material for intentional experience. In this article, I attempt to demonstrate that the entire study of perception, even in its hyletic phase, should be free from any relation of dependence on empirical sciences. Still, there arises a suspicion whether phenomenological transcendental inquiries can be fully vindicated as an independent enquiry. After refusing naturalism, should we take a linguistic turn instead? I try to show that we cannot deny a transcendental feature within our linguistic investigation itself. We can see this for example in later Wittgenstein's insight into the necessary conditions surrounding possibilities of linguistic phenomena.
