第4章. 理念と教育第5章. "Kunst"について第6章. "Kunst"としての教育This paper follows a preceding one which appeared on Phiosophy Vol. 62 March 1974 under the subtitle of "Idee" "philosophieren", dealt mainly with "Idee" in Kant's meaning and maintained he exhorted men to realize it. The first section of this paper is titled " Education and Idee". The author shows that education is expected by Kant to be a medium to realize " Idee", but it could not be considered to give a definite aim to actual education as argued in the previous paper. From the viewpoint of Kant, education is a "Kunst" which is a key concept in his theoretial structure, as well as "Wissenschaft" (science), on which men should concentrate their practical efforts to realize "Idee". The second section is devoted to introduction of the meaning of "Kunst" by showing two types of explanations which were adopted by Kant to elucidate the concept. In synthetic explanation "Kunst" is distinguished from 1) nature, 2) science and 3) handicraft. In analytical way, it is broken down into mechanical and aesthetical. This is directly connected with " Idee", and that is indirectly, only mediated by science, connected with it. In the last section the conceptual relation between education and " Kunst" is treated. Kant felt that the education activities of his time were mechanical. They should be improved, he felt, to be judicial. For this improvement, Kant stresses that the science of education should be built up. But he adds such a science would be capable only in "Idee". He exhorts also to realize this "Idee". From all of the above, this author concludes that Kant's exhortation still has significance to those who are in the study of education.
