Using time-lapse video microscopy and immunofluorescence, we found that the vector of saltatory motion of subcellular parcels in the vegetal pole region of medaka zygotes is parallel to (1) microtubules in this region of the zygote and (2) the future dorsoventral axis of the embryo.
