Serum and urinary Potassium and Sodium levels tended to be raised in patients with uterine cancer in general. These patients were divided into groups according to the international method of classification, and serum and urinary Potassium and Sodium concentrations were measured in each stage of the disease. Serum Potassium and Sodium increased with the progress of disease, whereas urinary Potassium and Sodium increased in the second stage and decreased in the third stage. Serum Potassium and Sodium decreased in the immediate postoperative period, returning to preoperative levels in about a week. Urinary Potassium increased and urinary Sodium decreased in the immediate postoperative period, dut both values returned to preoperative levels in about a week. Preoperative transfusion caused serum and urinary Potassium and Sodium to increase. There was a decrease in serum Potassium and Sodium after irradiation with radium, but an increase following irradiation with X-rays. Urinary Potassium and Sodium increased after irradiation with radium and X-rays. There were no significant fluctuations in serum and urinary Potassium and Sodium during the period of three months following operation and irradiation therapy. In three months, however, serum Potassium and Sodium tended to decrease. Inoculation of albino rats with Yoshida's sarcoma caused serum Potassium and Sodium in them to increase.
