Experiments were carried out in 573 youths with records of delinquency and 553 children of the so-called "problem nature" to study emotional development in them. They were tested individually by question and answer for consciousness of their daily emotional activities. The following observations were made: 1. It proved possible to grasp the principal characteristic features in the emotional aspect of persons in comparatively low age groups. 2. It was clearly shown that persons with an inclination to delinquency or those of the so-called "problem nature" had a higher incidence of emotional unbalance or abnormality than persons without them. 3. The results of the present test were in accord with the findings of Glueck published in his report and the results of psychological tests performed in the past. 4. It is considered likely that emotional unbalance or abnormality is a factor partly responsible for delinquency or problem nature in young persons.
