高令者の上部消化管癌腫の統計的考察

Statistic based on elderly 357 cases, OVER 65 YEAR old admitted patients, cancer of upper digestive tract, in the Nakayama's Surgical Clinic, from 1945 to August, 1957 and compared younger patients. 1) Admitted cases of cancer of upper digestive tract were 2680 cases, in whom elderly patients were 357 cases (13.3%), in them operability were 60.2%. 2) Subjective chief complains were obstruction of the esophagus in the esophageal cancer, and were fullness and upper abdominal pain in the stomach cancer. 3) Preoperative clinical conditions; weight loss 33.3 %, anemia 63.0%, heat damage 16.6%, liver damage 69.0%, kidney damage 56.6%, that poor condition were higher per cent that younger patients. 4) Operative moritality were almost of the same between elderly and younger patients. 5) Postoperative complications were much often occured in the poor condition's patients, especially weight loss (58.1 %), lung pathologic findings (66.6%), heart damage (25.7%), were wourse in the postoperative course. In this problem, (postoperative complications) younger patients were better than elderly patients. 6) Statistic results in the survey of the radical operation for the cancer in the upper digestive tracts, were almost of the same between elderly and younger patients.
