A survey was made among 404 pulmonary tuberculosis patients (including 46 aggravative and recrudescent patients), treated by means of chemotherapy in Shizuoka Municipal Hospital from September 1954 to August 1959. The author investigated th*e conversion of Tuberculin-allergy of these patients and obtained the following results. 1) Among the pulmonary tuberculosis patients who were under medical treatment by chemotherapy, the conversion of Tuberculin-allergy was surveyed. Its ratio was as follows. Group A. (Those who indicated no conversion of Tuberculin-allergy.) was 89.0%. Group B. (Those who indicated conversion of Tuberculin-allergy, for instance, from tuberculin strong positive to tuberculin weak positive status, from tuberculin negative to tuberculin positive status, and both of them.), was 6.0%. Group C. (Those who conversed from tuberculin positive to tuberculin negative status.), was 5.0%. 2) The patients who continued tuberculin negative status were recognized 3.7%. But except negative and temporary anergy caused by complication or old age etc., the rate of patients who continued essential tuberculin negative status was lower than 0.3 %. 3) The rate of those who conversed to tuberculin negative from tuberculin positive status was 5.0 %, and the converter from tuberculin weak positive were recognized many more than from tuberculin strong positive. 4) In the term of survey, the rate of those who indicated resistance to chemotherapy was 8.1 % from Group A, 41.7 % from Group B, 3.5 % from Group C. And in Group A, its rate was 5.0 % from those who continued tuberculin positive status, and 52.2 % from those who continued tuberculin negative status. 5) Few patients who indicated tuberculin strong positive resisted to chemotherapy. The prognosis of pulmonary tuberculosis patients who indicated tuberculin negative status were bad. 6) In pulmonary tuberculosis patients, the converting to tuberculin negative or the status of tuberculin negative continuity is on intimate relation with stadium of aggravation or recrudescense of the disease, especially of hematogenous progressin. 7) In the persons who infected tuberculosis in the past, when tubeculin test reaction converse to negative status, bygone tuberculosis often recrudesce. 8) Among the pulmonary tuberculosis patients, it is necessary to practise Tuberculin-intracutaneous reaction test once or twice a year to know process and prognosis of the disease.
