Morphology and its relations of degenerated eggs of dog hookworm, Ancylostoma caninum, with several physical stimuli and ovocidal chemicals were pursued and observed continuously by polyethylene-film method. The results were as follows. 1. The rate,of the appearance of the degenerated ones depended generally upon the strength of the physical stimuli imparted. As for the degree of the degeneration of the eggs were almost similar, too. 2. When the same chemical were used, their rate of the appearance depended upon the concentration of the solution at the same immersed duration, and upon the immersed duration at the same concentration. 3. The classification for degenerated ascaris eggs were also suitable in observing degenerated hookworm ones. Furthermore, the recognized some figures as follows: cracking of the egg cell, cavity, non-formation, swelling, filling with brown fine granula, non-filling type, etc. 4. A little of the degenerated ones may be recognized as reversible in the slightest, but most of them proceeded gradually to more serious. These were reversible no more. 5. The end of the degeneration was granulation and deformation of the egg cell. 6. This classification of the degenerated ones should be employed by all means in addition to the hatching rate, in judging ovocidal effects of chemicals. 7. It was possible that our method of continual observation by polyethylene-film on the development of hookworm eggs, was applied also favourably at these studies of the degenerated ones.
