39 patients, clinically diagnosed of suspected intracranial tumour, were subjected to the examination by radioactive diiodofluorescein (DIP). The results are summarized as follows: 1. Diagnostical success were obtained in 69.6 %. 2. Technical procedures employed was the compromise of those of Moore and Ashkenazy.500〜800 microcurie DIF was injected intravenously. Activitty over symmetrical areas of the head (each 10 positions had been settled) was measured with a scintillation counter. 3. Blood levels of DIF following intravenous injection were studied, and the result suggested that it is opportune to begin the measurement about 90 minutes after the injection. 4. Edematous brain tissue showed high uptake of DIF. 5. In a case of meningioma of brain stem, the diagnosis was failed, while that of temporal lobe was accurately localized. In respect to the localization of meningioma, the accuracy of this method would be considerably influenced by the site of the tumour. 6. It has been repeatedly reported that astrocytomas showed only insufficient uptake of DIF. A case of astroblastoma showed sufficient uptake of DIF for diagnostical purpose. 7. In cases of intracranial lesions of some other nature (e. g. early cerebral haemorrhage or softening), this method might be also available. 8. Experimental tumour transplant (Sato Carcinoma No. 1 was transplanted in the brain tissue of mice) showed high uptake of DIF. 9. There was not any undesirable reaction under these procedures, the contraindication was not experienced.
