遠隔成績からみた胸廓成形術適応の再検討

The thoracoplasties which had been performed at the National Chiba Sanatorium since 1943 till the end of October, 1956 were enumerated 502 cases. And 69.7 % of the patients who have baen operated, are either employed full time or doing their own house work. Among 407 cases which I have examined, 86.9 % of the patients who underwent chemotherapies at the time of thoracoplasty can be employed full time, but on the other hand, when they did not undergo chemotherapies, the perecentage of the patients who can be employed is 70.4 %.. The late results of thoracoplasties for infiltrative-caseous lesions are worse than those of thoracoplsties for fibrous-caseous lesions. Beside the fact as the above, the grade of thickening of pleura, hilar shadows, condition of patients before operation, have much connection with the results of thoracoplasty. The patient who has a cavity more than 4cm in diameter is able to be performed thoracoplasty, except the one who has infiltrative-caseous cavity with high grade thickening of pleura.
