The author carried out investigations on the biological changes in the ascaris living in the intestine of the host animal resulting from the administration of drugs by means of enterocentesis, and, at the same time, examined the effects of puncture on living animals. The results are summarized as follows: (1) The drugs that were effective in exterminating ascarides were benzine, chloroform, trichloroethylene, xylene and oxydol. (2) Oxydol was the most effective without having any noxious side effects. (3) The optimum dose of oxydol was 0.5 mg. (4) The author makes it a rule to use a sharp injection needle of 1/4mm caliber (5) Enterocentesis should be done in such a manner as the needle of syringe reaches below the serous membrane of the intestinal canal. Enterocentesis had no influence on living animals provided that the practice was limited to less than twenty times.
