1) Various kinds of endocarditis were obtained in rats by continuous subcutaneous injection of hemolytic streptococci. 2) According to the features of damages they have been classified into the following groups, namely : i) early stage of endocarditic lesions, ii) thromboendocarditis, iii) subacute endocarditis, iv) fibrinous endocarditiss and, v) septic endocarditis. This classification is also immediately applicable to that・f bacterial endocarditis of human. 3) Moreover in the myocardium Aschoff body like nodules were seen, and there is a possibility to explain them by streptococcal allergy. 4) In the experiments using staphylococci multiple abcsesses were recognized in several parenchymatous organs, however, as to the heart they developed only early stage of endocarditic lesions. 5) Concerning the pathogenesis of endocarditis, we consider that it is more adequate to explain it by the allergic theory than the embolic one as, far as this experiment is concerned.
