The anther has undertaken to produce glomerulonephritis in rabbits by injection of a large amount of globulin saline solutin of horse serum. This experimentally produced glomerulonephritis was histopathologically examined resulting as follows: 1) In either histopathologic or pathogenetic aspects globulin nephritis is quite similar to anti-kidney serum nephritis and other types of foreign protein nephritis. 2) Onhistological examination of globulin ,nephritis the capillary lesions, that is, exudative and proliferative changes in the wall of capillary loops and intercapillary space of glomerular tufts are most predominant. 3) The animals, which are two times injected by the antigen, have a tendency of exudative changes, although the animals four times injected have that of proliferative changes. 4) The auther divides these lesions into the following four types from the standpoints of clinical course and histological picture: Type I. Eclamptic glomerular lesion, such as marked edema of the. wall of capillary loops and intercapillary space of glomerular tufts. This type of lesions is seen in the animals of the acute cases. Type II. This is accompanied by mild edema of the wall of capillary loops, mild endothelial and epithelial proliferation, leukocytic infiltration and deposition of plasma like stuff in the lumina of capillary loops, and is seen in theanimals of the mild cases. Type III. This is accompanied by pronounced dilatation and cellular proliferation of the intercapillary space in glomerular tufts, and is seen in the animals four times injected. Type IV, Scarring of the above mentioned lesions, that is, partial or total fibrosis of glomeruli.
