• The composition of 4371 adult German cockroaches captured with sticky traps at 76 restaurants in Tokyo and Yokohama was estimated as following: male 70% female non-egg capsule 24% and female with egg capsule 6%, respectively. Although this charactaristic radio was obtained in the different restaurants, the composition of flushing out after the ULV treatments in the same places was greatly changed to 53%, 27%, and 20%, respectively. The low composition rate of female cockroaches with eggs seemed to originate from inactive behavior. The distribution surveys of the cockroaches in the restaurants also supported the above mentioned facts so that females with eggs stayed near heated sites in the kitchens.
