Various methods aiming at enhancing the efficiency and stability of optoelectronic devices, including light-emitting devices, based on nanocrystalline porous silicon have been investigated. Significant results were obtained using electrochemical oxidation, carbon buffer, silicon nanocrystal passivation and high-pressure treatment.
