By the detailed field survey and the analysis of the structural elements of the area mentioned in the title, the followings could be recognized. 1. The so-called "spotted zone" characterized by the albite porphyroblast shows a complicated folding structure in this area (Fig. 2). The axes of the folding cross obliquely the boundary between the spotted and nonspotted zones. 2. The stratigraphy of the metamorphic complex of this area is as follows: A formation (consisting of thick green schist ; thickness 1,000 m+), B formation (consisting of black schists with thin beds of sandstone schists and ultrabasic rocks; thickness 150〜250 m) and C formation (consisting of black schist with sandstone schists and thin beds of green schists; the lowermost part is composed of green schist ; thickness 500 m〜) in ascending order. It may be mentioned that A formation is the lowermost stratigraphic unit of the Sambagawa complex in the Kii peninsula. 3. Kieslager is found on the specific horizon of the above mentioned stratigraphic sequence, namely, in the uppermost part of A formation. 4. The sheets of ultrabasic rocks in this region are parallel to Si-plane, and are stratigraphically found mainly on the certain horizon of B formation.
