The animal evolution has been realized by the processes occured in the interbreeding populations, which are the basic units in the organic world. This teaches us that to solve the evolution problems we should first distinguish and analyze the interbreeding populations among the closely allied forms occuring together at the same locality. The rush progress of biochemistry in the last ten years clarified that any change in the organism is realized through metabolism, which is in turn very sensibly and directly affected by the environmental forces. In other words there is an intimate correspondence between the organisms and the environmental factors. Then we must consider the evolution problem on the basis of the fossil data with the collaboration of the careful examination of the beds themselves from which the fossils came, otherwise enormous effort will not result any reliable conclusion, though all the organisms and the environmental factors are not always preserved as the firm geologic records. Led by above mentioned ideas, I analyzed the various forms of molluscan fossils and the fossil-bearing beds of the Miyazaki group. Thereby I reached the following conclusion after synthesis of the analyzed data that the ecological forms which directly correspond with the enviroments seem to be adaptively fixed as a distinct species through subspecies stage with the aid of the long ranged time effect of the lasting environmental conditions.
